CNRP collects thumbprints, urging King not attend first session
The opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) began collecting thumbprints from voters nationwide in order to present to King Norodom Sihamoni, requesting he not attend the first session of parliament, according to a source…. A CNRP senior official on Thursday said that his party held a meeting on Wednesday involving all of their 55 elected lawmakers after they sent a letter to the King requesting he delay the first session of parliament, however their request was rejected. “Our 55 lawmakers are firm on their positions and they will not attend the first session of parliament on September 23,” he said, requesting anonymity. …
