On 20 December 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a press release on the Chinese special envoy in Phnom Penh to discuss de-escalation of Cambodia-Thailand conflict.

During these meetings, both sides underscored the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and emphasized that peaceful dialogue remains the only viable path toward resolving differences.
