Press release: Club of Cambodian Journalists organizes a mission to report on the plight of civilian IDPs caused by the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict

On 11 December 2025, the Club of Cambodian Journalists (CCJ) issued a statement informing that due to the worsening Cambodia-Thailand border conflict since 7 December 2025, which resulted in at least 11 civilian deaths and 74 injuries (including journalists), the Thai military’s attacks have also displaced nearly 200,000 Cambodian citizens, forcing the closure of nearly 600 schools and interrupting the education of over 130,000 students. To provide accurate information on the impact of these inhumane acts, the CCJ will lead a mission of nearly 30 journalists from 13 media organizations (covering Khmer, English, French, Vietnamese, and Chinese languages) to an IDP camp in Oddar Meanchey province on 12 December 2025. The mission will also distribute humanitarian aid, including 3,000 tents, supplies, food, and money, to 1,000 displaced families, and the CCJ thanked all philanthropists for their contributions.
