PPMM #21: Monitoring Forest Degradation Using Satellite Imagery | When Mapping Meets Arts
You’re invited to the PPMM #21, which is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29. Please mark your calendar and extend the invite to your friends. We have two very exciting presentations/discussions: 1. Paul, from Aruna Technology, is giving a presentation on remote sensing, using forest degradation monitoring as an example. We’re certain many remote sensing experts and people who’re interested in learning about forest degradation will find this presentation very informative. 2. Dana and Team, from Our City Festival, will introduce you to the Open Call for the Our City Festival 2014. Dana is passionate about bringing arts to the public. As an art community organizer, and having realized that mapping is a powerful tool for visualizing stories, Dana is keen to explore the virtual space of Cambodia’s cities via mapping. Let’s bring [products of] mapping exercises to the public. If you have just the perfect idea on how to use mapping exercises to help craft a story-worth-telling for Phnom Penh, and perhaps for Battambang and Siem Reap, please let us hear your idea. If you just want to be a part of such initiative, let’s exchange contact information and get the project rolling. We’re looking forward to meeting you.
