Cambodian to meet some MDG goals, deal landmine issues: envoy
Cambodia will meet some of the Millennium Development Goals by the end of 2015 and will continue to deal with landmine threats, said a Cambodian envoy to UN Tuesday at the General Debate of the UN General Assembly. Based on its target in this field, Cambodia is set to achieve the Three Zeros Strategies, namely, Zero new HIV Infection, Zero AIDS related Death, and Zero Discrimination by 2015. On Malaria prevention, Sea said, Cambodia developed the National Strategic Plan for Elimination of Malaria 2011-2025. “Substantial progress” has been made in preventing death from landmines, said Sea, saying that the number of mine explosion accidents has decreased from over 300 cases in 2008 to 186 in 2012. …
