China gives $2 billion for roads, bridge

The visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping last week resulted in loan agreements worth almost $2 billion for road infrastructure development in Cambodia, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport said on Friday. According to Transport Minister Sun Chanthol, the money will be used to build a highway from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville, a new bridge crossing the Mekong River in Kampong Cham province, and a new road connecting Prey Veng to Kampong Cham provinces. …
