On 22 June 2026, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a press release on Cambodia and Japan signing an exchange of letters on the provision of a concessionary yen loan for the project to rehabilitate the irrigation system and water relief system in southwest Phnom Penh (credit package 3).
His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and His Excellency UENO Atsushi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, signed an Exchange of Letters and related documents providing a concessional yen loan from the Government of Japan totaling 24.237 million yen (approximately 162.7 million US dollars) to implement the Project to Rehabilitate the Irrigation System and Water Relief System in Southwest Phnom Penh (Credit Package 3).
