Six people were arrested in three separate incidents for trying to send 236 Cambodians into Thailand where they were to work illegally, police said yesterday. Prak Saony, Kompong Chhnang provincial anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection bureau police chief, said that police arrested five people in a coordinated bust on Saturday as they tried to escort 53 workers from the province in separate vehicles across several border crossings with Thailand. … In a separate incident, police in Poipet City turned away 170 people trying to cross into Thailand at an informal border checkpoint in Poipet commune on Friday, said Poipet City police chief Um Sophal. …
