Asian Development Bank (ADB), will conduct a press tour in Kampong Thom province in Cambodia to evaluate and report on how the “Improving Market Access for the Poor in Central Cambodia Project” is helping to increase household incomes and create jobs for poor communities in that region, according to an ADB press release. The two-day event will be held from December 18-19, and will evaluate how the development of micro and small enterprises will help economic growth for the poor in the area. … The center, which was completed in May 2013, is being utilized by 383 members of the Prasat Sambor Cashew Association, and serves as a local production place for processing cashew and foods with high market demand, including soy milk and palm sugar juice, the release said. In April 2013 the project provided $9,000 in start-up capital to 11 community leaders from 9 villages in April 2013, to launch the cashew production business, the release added. …
