Hongkong Land plans to break ground in 2012

Hongkong Land, one of Asia's largest property investment companies, plans to have excavators move in on one of its four properties in Phnom Penh's Daun Penh district that it bought earlier this year, according to an official at the company. John Brinsden, country adviser for Jardine Matheson, of which Hongkong Land is a subsidiary, said it was likely that the first site to be developed would be "Embassy Place", a site behind the US Embassy... ...In April, Hongkong Land paid $33.65 million for a 1,625-square-meter plot between Wat Ounalom and the Tonle Sap river, 10,500 square meters directly behind the US Embassy, and two serviced apartment buildings near Monivong Boulevard called Colonial Mansion I and II...
