Trade With Vietnam Grows Through Seven Months
Trade between Vietnam and Cambodia grew 22.36 percent in the first seven months of the year to reach $1.96 billion compared to the same period last year, a Vietnamese official said yesterday. Vu Thinh Cuong, commercial counselor at the Vietnam Trade Office, said imports from Vietnam grew 22.66 percent to reach $1.6 billion compared to the same period last year while exports to Vietnam also showed growth, albeit a slower pace, growing 16.19 percent to reach $329.59 million. “Cambodia is an important market that now has a higher requirement of construction materials, as well as a growing need in industries like agriculture,” Mr Thinh Cuong said at a Vietnamese trade fair in Phnom Penh yesterday.
