Cambodia’s Appeal Court on Friday granted bail to three opposition youth activists, who were arrested early this month for alleged involvements in a violent protest last month, a defense lawyer confirmed. “Appeal Court’s Judge Seng Sivutha decided to release the trio on bail,”Chen Lida, a lawyer for the accused, told reporters after a closed-door hearing.
He said the judge granted the accused persons bail under the conditions that they do not leave Cambodia or change address and must show up whenever the court summons. The accused were further required to deposit a total of 7,500 U.S. dollars in court. …
