Construction Projects Surge This Year
Total investment in new construction projects reached $1.53 billion through the first eight months of the year, a 73.96 percent improvement compared to the same period last year, according to data released yesterday by the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction. Though the number of permits issued for construction projects decreased by 17.48 percent to 1,213 compared to the first eight months last year, the total amount of building space grew 240.96 percent for a total of 6.78 million square meters, the data shows.
