EZECOM and Thai partner interconnect
Thai telecommunications network provider United Information Highway (UIH) and Cambodian internet service provider EZECOM said they established an interconnect agreement last month to offer improved service to customers conducting business with neighbouring countries. “We have UIH as a partner for our connection to Thailand; the connection is being tested at present,” Inge Olde Rikkert, marketing manager at EZECOM, said. ... “This is a long-term view in order to prepare for 2015 AEC opening up the market since there are many Thai companies operating in Cambodia,” he told the Post. The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications counted nearly 2.5 million internet users in Cambodia last year, while 19.85 million mobile SIM cards were in use. ...
