Gov’t: drive safe, pay workers

The Interior Ministry is hoping last year’s relative decrease in traffic accidents and deaths during the Pchum Ben holiday is a sign of things to come and asked citizens again this year to drive safely as they crisscross the country to celebrate the holiday. In a press release on Friday Sar Kheng, the Interior Minister and chairman of the National Committee for Traffic Safety, said that in order for the country to avoid a high number of road accidents during the Pchum Ben holiday – which this year runs from September 17 to October 1 – drivers had to pay attention to the road, move at safe speeds, refrain from overloading their vehicles and make sure their cars had been checked by mechanics beforehand. ...
