Kampot Residents Confront Eviction by Local Company
An agriculture and transportation company has allegedly threatened to demolish the homes of about 100 families on Wednesday if they refuse to move off an agricultural land concession in Kampot province’s Chhuk district, villagers said yesterday. “So Nguon company and [Decho Aphivat commune chief] Chum Soeun came last Friday to tell us that we have five days to leave our homes, otherwise they will come and demolish our houses,” 54-year-old villager representative Phok Mao said yesterday. …
