The government will not increase the rate for income tax and other taxes for the next two years, but will instead concentrate on expanding the base for tax collection, taking into account that there are still many individuals and businesses that do not pay tax in the country. “There will be no further increase in tax rates and no additional taxes will be created until 2018. However, reform in Cambodia’s tax system will be expanded to collect tax from individuals, businesses and companies that currently are not registered with the tax department,” said Kong Vibol, director-general of the general department of taxation (GDT), yesterday at the Tax Forum 2016 in InterContinental Phnom Penh. ...
