Joint letter: three UN human rights experts expressed concern over the Law on preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 and other severe and dangerous contagious diseases

On 03 April 2021, the United Nations Human Rights in Cambodia issued a joint letter that the three UN human rights experts expressed concern over the Law on preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 and other severe and dangerous contagious diseases. By concerning the law provides the Government with the power to restrict certain areas, prohibit travel, meetings and gatherings, certain business operations, the UN human rights experts urged the Government to revisit it to ensure its compliance with international human rights standards that protect the rights and freedoms of Cambodians.
