Joint press release on call for acceleration and opportunity for civil society organizations (CSOs) to continue joining in the process of amendment to the law on associations and non-governmental organizations (LANGO)

On 26 August 2020, COMFREL has post a joint press release on the call for acceleration and opportunity for civil society organizations (CSOs) to continue joining in the process of amendment to the law on associations and non-governmental organizations (LANGO).  According to the Press, Civil Society urge the government to: 

  1. To amend 14 articles of LANGO of concern to CSOs, including Article 1, Article 7, Article 8, Article 9, Article 10, Article 11, Article 20, Article 24, Article 25, Article 26, Article 30, Article 31, Article 32 and Article 35.
  2. To expedite the process with a clear roadmap to finish the draft amendments to LANGO as soon as possible.
  3. To provide CSOs an opportunity to further review the draft amendments.
  4. To continue to cooperate and discuss the draft amendments in a transparent and inclusive process until the amendments are signed into law.
