Press release: Regional capacity development workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the public sector
On 6 December 2024, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication (MPTC) announced the hosting of a regional capacity development workshop under the theme “Artificial Intelligence in the Public Sector: Policy Considerations and Best Practices.” This workshop is part of a three-year (2024-2026) capacity development initiative by the Astana Civil Service Hub (ACSH) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), aiming to build the capacity of public servants from different levels of government and advance digital transformation and digital governance in twelve participating countries across three geographical regions.
The regional capacity-building workshop, held on 5-6 December 2024 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, was organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Astana Civil Service Hub (ACSH), the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea (MOIS), the National Information Society Agency (NIA) of the Republic of Korea, Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT), World Bank GovTech Practice, and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). The event brought together more than 60 development partners from 12 countries, including relevant ministries, high- and mid-ranking public officials, and practitioners involved in digital governance and digital policy formulation and implementation.
