Asean Agrees to Promote Free Flow of Labor

Economic ministers from Asean’s 10 member states signed an agreement yesterday to loosen restrictions around the movement of skilled labor in the region, part of preparation for the integration of the Asean Economic Community in 2015. The Asean Movement of Natural Persons Agreement is supposed to facilitate foreign investment and improve access to employment for all citizens within Asean by calling on governments to streamline their immigration processes, ease restrictions on foreign labor and improve transparency for investors. …
