Locals Pay Almost Double for iPhone Amid High Demand

Cambodian customers eager to buy Apple Inc.'s newest iPhone are paying almost double the company's asking price in the U.S., phone vendors in Phnom Penh said yesterday.

At about a dozen phone shops near Phnom Penh's Central Market, vendors were doing a steady trade in the iPhone 5 at $1,100 for the cheapest, 16-gigabyte model, which retails for about $200 with a mobile operator contract in the U.S., $770 in Singapore and $855 in the U.K. ...
