Official Arrested After Blocking Land Program
The former deputy administration director from Kratie province was arrested yesterday, accused of incitement for interfering with the work of student volunteers in Prime Minister Hun Sen's land-titling project, an official said. Chin Hongsry, 60, is accused of undermining the volunteers by telling the villagers to ignore preliminary land-titling results posted on a wall at the Chhlong district administartion office, said Sar Chamrong, Kratie provincial governor. Mr. Hingsry, who has retired from his provincial government position, was acting on behalf of CTD, a company with a 1,012-hectare land concession in the district to which the villagers have overlapping claims. ...
