Worker Shortage Biggest Threat to Economy
A shortage of workers, particularly those with skills, is the biggest threat to economic growth in Cambodia today, Sok Chenda, secretary general of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), said yesterday. Speaking at the Greater Mekong Subregion Investment Policy Forum organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, Mr. Chenda was asked by Asian Development Bank senior country economist Peter Brimble about the biggest challenge facing the country’s economic growth in the next five years. “My [biggest] concern is about the supply of labor force and supply of skilled labor force,” Mr. Chenda replied. …
