Customs to get easier for certified firms

Cambodia's General Department of Customs and Excise will begin certifying firms it deems trustworthy so that their products will have easier passage across the country's borders, officials have said. The government is working on a program to provide "authorized economic operators" or "AEO" status on approved businesses which with results in less bureaucracy and make  goods exempt from physical inspections. International bodies such as the World Bank have said that a major hurdle to doing business in Cambodia is the complications firms face getting goods through customs as well as the need to make informal payments to officials.
