Aviation Chief Urges Compensation for Victims of PMT Crash

Fielding questions from opposition lawmakers in the National Assembly yesterday, the chief of the State Secretary of Civil Aviation (SSCA) addressed a host of issues that have drawn recent criticism of the government body. SSCA Secretary of State Mao Havanall began by saying that the secretariat would continue to work on compensating the families of the six Cambodian victims who died when PMT Air flight U4 241 crashed in the mountains of Kampot province in 2007. “The plane that crashed, it is the responsibility of the government, especially Civil Aviation,” Mr. Havanall said, responding to questions put forth by SRP lawmaker Son Chhay during a parliamentary session on air transportation in the Asean region. …
