British Minister kicks off SE Asia tour in Cambodia

Britain’s Minister of Trade and Investment Lord Green is starting his two week visit to Southeast Asia, to promote opportunities for British businesses, in Cambodia Monday, June 10, 2013. The promotion of British businesses is part of a larger effort to enhance the support available to British companies to start trading and building in Cambodia which included the opening of a UK Trade and Investment office within the British Embassy in January 2013. … Mark Gooding, British Ambassador to Cambodia said,” Trade between UK and Cambodia reached $750million in 2012 and continues to grow. It is up 24% already in the first quarter of this year, compared to 2012. … In 2012, UK exports to ASEAN reached 8.9bln GBP, an increase of 15 percent from 2011, while their imports were at 12.62 bln GBP. Trade between UK and Cambodia in 2012 was approx $750 million, up 27 percent compared to 2011 and their exports to Cambodia in the first quarter of this year increased 119.2 percent to £ 7.7 million (USD 11.7 million). …
